Gynaecology services, the Women’s at Sandringham
The Women's at Sandringham (at Sandringham Hospital) provides primary gynaecology care. The Women's has one referral pathway for both Parkville and Sandringham.
Gynaecology services available to women who live in the Sandringham catchment area:
- primary gynaecological assessment, including diagnostic investigations, where there are abnormal symptoms
- contraception prescription, insertion and/or removal.
Gynaecology assessment, diagnosis and care are provided by either a nurse practitioner (when appropriate) or by a specialist doctor in Sandringham.
Tertiary gynaecology care is provided at the Sandringham campus by a team of specialist doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and dieticians.
Monday to Friday.

An acknowledgement letter will be sent directly to the patient and the GP will be notified. The patient will then receive a letter with the appointment details..
