We know that people who are the most impacted by a problem are often the people with the best ideas on how to solve or reduce the problem.
This project aims to work with people who have experienced family, domestic, and/or sexual violence to support Trauma and Violence Informed Care at the Women’s.
Family, domestic and sexual violence includes both current and historic experiences of violence and abuse, including ongoing experiences or single events. This could be controlling, intimidating or violent behaviour from an intimate partner, carer or parent, adult child, sibling, extended family member, or wider kinship network. Abuse and violence can be emotional, financial, psychological, verbal, physical, and/or sexual. It is used to gain and maintain power and control over another.
We are going to work with a group of people to design a program or resource that may improve the experience of being in hospital for everyone, but particularly for those who have experienced trauma, violence, and abuse.
We have now closed expressions of interest for this project.
