Gestational trophoblastic disease registry & clinic

The Gestational Trophoblastic Disease (GTD) Registry offers comprehensive diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and management for women with a partial or complete molar pregnancy, or any other form of GTD or gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN). We accept statewide referrals.

Overview of GTD

Hydatidiform mole is the most common form of GTD. Molar pregnancies are quite rare, affecting around 1 in 1,000 pregnancies. It is sometimes suspected on early ultrasound or after a miscarriage, when the tissue that is collected or passed from the uterus is inspected. As the condition is unusual and not well known in the community, it can come as a shock for women who are suffering the loss of a pregnancy.

Health professionals can call the GTD Fellow via the Women’s switchboard for advice and information on the management of patients with GTD.
