The Sexual Counselling Clinic sees people with any problems related to sex. We see problems such as vaginismus, loss of libido, vulvodynia and dyspareunia and any issues where sexuality is a prominent feature.
Services available
The Sexual Counselling Clinic only accepts internal referrals. We require patients to have been seen by one of our other women's health clinics.
The clinic works in conjunction with other specialist and allied health services at the Women’s and treats:
- Primary vaginismus
- Loss of libido
- Vulvodynia
- Entry dyspareunia/secondary vaginismus
- Issues where sexuality is a prominent feature
These problems may arise after natural events such as childbirth or menopause, after major illness such as cancer, or spontaneously in a woman’s lifetime.
Our clinic particularly specialises in helping the patient explore the emotional issues relevant to the problem. Partners are also seen if the patient wishes.
Inclusion criteria
This clinic only accepts internal referrals.
If your patient has any gynaecological problems impacting their sexuality, please refer them to the women’s health specialist clinic that best suits their needs and highlight any problems related to sex in your referral. This will be assessed and triaged appropriately.
