Heartfelt messages help end challenging year for healthcare workers

18 December 2020 |
The Royal Women’s Hospital has launched a virtual Wall of Gratitude for its staff, sharing patient reviews and stories to highlight the many positive impacts and outcomes – despite the challenging year.

Messages of heartfelt thanks from patients who received care across the hospital during 2020 – from the Birth Centre to specialist women’s health clinics – feature on the Wall of Gratitude.

Chief Executive Dr Sue Matthews says every single staff member can be proud of what they have achieved this year.

“2020 is a year that will stay with so many of us at the Women’s, both personally and professionally,” said Dr Matthews.

“It was a year of immense challenges and lots of change for the way the hospital operates. But it was also a year of pulling together, adapting, and going that extra mile for our patients.

“Seeing the many messages of thanks directly from our patients is affirmation that the amazing efforts I have seen this year are truly valued by our patients. Every one of our team contributed to this in their own way.

“As we approach a new year, this Wall of Gratitude is a fantastic way to reflect on the year that was. I am incredibly proud of what everyone the Women’s has achieved, and add my deepest gratitude to that of our patients.”
