The hard work, dedication and compassion of nurses and midwives at the Women’s were celebrated at the annual Nursing and Midwifery Awards yesterday.
This year, nine nurses and midwives were recognised for their outstanding contribution to the hospital.
The Women’s Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Laura Bignell hosted the ceremony. She acknowledged the crucial role nurses and midwives play in the healthcare system.
“Nurses and midwives are the glue that holds the healthcare sector together. Without you, there would be no hospital,” she said.
“All of you should be proud of the exceptional care you provide to women and babies, and the tireless support you give to each other. You do this day in and day out – on both the good days and the tough days.”
