The 2024 Women’s scholarship program is investing in a record number of staff this year. Thanks to our generous philanthropic partners, our talented workforce can pursue even more exciting development opportunities.

The scholarships were awarded at a celebratory event at the Women’s last week. Donors and sponsors including Amber Infrastructure, Cushman & Wakefield and ISS Facility Services, who make the annual program possible, attended the event.

The Women's Chair of the Board, Cath Bowtell, said the event is one of her favourite annual commitments.

“I am always so impressed by the talent, dedication and passion of our staff,” Ms Bowtell said.

"The Women's is an internationally recognised leader in women's and newborn health. Investing in our workforce will ensure our patients get the very best care.”

Medical knowledge evolves rapidly. Our wonderful donors help us keep up with new treatments, technologies and best practices.

Scholarship recipients will pursue various specialised courses. These include early pregnancy ultrasound, infant mental health, developmental psychiatry, sexual and reproductive health, maternity care, and leadership development.

Genetic Counsellor Erica Brown accepted the scholarship on behalf of the Clinical Genetics Service team. The scholarship is supported by Elite Print Solutions represented by Rag Arasu.

One of the recipients is the Clinical Genetics Service team, supported by Elite Print Solutions. The scholarship will help the team to better support families affected by genetic conditions.

Genetic Counsellor Erica Brown accepted the scholarship on behalf of her colleagues. She says that the team is eager to learn.

"This scholarship is allowing our team to access vital training that would otherwise be out of reach. We are absolutely thrilled,” Erica said.

Jason Smith is the Women's Executive Director of Philanthropy and Community Investment. He thanked the donors and emphasised their vital role in empowering staff and improving patient outcomes.

"We are truly thankful to our sponsors and donors. They make these opportunities available to our passionate staff. Scholarships help recipients to shine in their careers," Jason said.

The Women's looks forward to seeing the scholarships' impact on staff development and patient care in the year ahead.
