Early Intervention Pelvic Pain (EIPP) Connect Program

We understand that your pain is real. Living with pelvic pain can be stressful, confusing and exhausting – but you don’t have to face it alone.

That’s why we’ve created an early intervention pelvic pain program to help you better understand and manage your symptoms, while you wait for your appointment with our Gynaecology doctors.

What to expect

You will have individual appointments with our team of experts who specialise in pelvic pain management. During these appointments, you will receive personalised advice and support tailored to your needs.

Our team includes a:

  • Nurse Coordinator
  • Pain Medicine Specialist
  • Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
  • Dietitian
  • Pain Psychologist.

During your first meeting, our Nurse Coordinator will walk you through the details of the program and answer any questions you may have.

Some of your appointments will be in person, while others will be via telehealth.

Before your first appointment

1. Activate your Health Hub account

Health Hub is a secure online app where you can access information about your appointments and our program.

You will receive an SMS to activate your account. Follow the link within 30 days. The link will expire after this.

2. Complete a pain questionnaire

After signing up to Health Hub, the Nurse Coordinator will send you a link to two questionnaires: one about pain and another about gut health. You must complete these before your first appointment. This will help us to better understand your needs and tailor your care.

3. Complete the videos to watch before your appointments.

Appointment times and location

This clinic runs on Monday mornings and all-day Fridays. Our nurse coordinator is available from Monday to Friday.

In person appointments are held:

Women's Health Clinics, Level 1
The Royal Women's Hospital
20 Flemington Road, Parkville.

Frequently asked questions

What if I need to change an appointment?

Please contact us as soon as possible by calling (03) 8345 2756.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, but we kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. This helps us to offer the appointment to someone else in need.

If you miss or cancel on the day twice, we will pause further bookings until we hear from you. However, you will remain on the waiting list to see the gynaecologist.

Can I do telehealth?

We recommend attending medical and physiotherapy appointments in person, whenever possible, for the best outcomes.

Other appointments can usually be conducted via telehealth, preferably with video.

How do I join a telehealth appointment?

On the day of your appointment, we will send you a link via email or SMS to join the telehealth session.

Can I choose when my appointments are?

Appointments are scheduled for Monday mornings or Fridays. Our clerical team will do their best to find times that suit your availability.

How many appointments will I have?

After watching the introductory videos, and meeting with our nurse coordinator and pain specialist, you’ll have a better idea of which team members you would like to see. Most people have around 3 to 4 appointments with each clinician: physiotherapist, dietitian, and psychologist.

If you need ongoing support, we will provide guidance on accessing further therapy in the community.

If I'm unable to complete the EIPP Connect program, will I still be on the waiting list to see the Gynaecology doctor?

Yes, participation in the program is optional. Choosing not to participate will not impact your position on the waiting list to see the Gynaecology doctor.
