We provide specialised care for some of the most vulnerable women in Victoria, including those who have experienced sexual assault or violence, those who have experienced genital cutting overseas, those with disabilities, those with drug and alcohol dependencies, and those who find themselves homeless without proper access to health services.

Breaking the cycle of homelessness for pregnant women and new mothers

In an Australian-first initiative, the Women’s, Launch Housing and HousingFirst have collaborated to develop the Cornelia Program – a housing, healthcare and social support program that aims to break the cycle of homelessness and support pregnant women and new mothers to develop a lasting bond with their babies.

The Cornelia Program provides:

  • Access to transitional/temporary accommodation for pregnant women and new mothers for a period of up to 12 months
  • Access to maternity, neonatal, sexual, reproductive and specialist women’s health services
  • Care coordination services to support women to access other health and psychosocial programs
  • Support to access long-term housing and ongoing care coordination services.

Supporters of the Cornelia Program will provide a life-changing opportunity for these women and their babies. Your investment will augment existing funding and provide support to help women onto a successful and sustainable path.

To discuss supporting the Cornelia Program, please contact Jason Smith, Executive Director of Philanthropy and Community Investment, on (03) 8345 2954 or send an email.
